KFC MVP Malcolm Hendricks heads to Panama and Brazil
Kaieteur Sports – The Petra Organisation has once again fulfilled its commitment to rewarding excellence in school football, with KFC Goodwill Secondary Schools Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) Malcolm Hendricks heading off to Panama and Brazil to begin an elite football development programme.
The Chase’s Academic Foundation and Santos FC player earned the opportunity as part of the KFC Goodwill Tournament MVP reward package, a standing initiative through which Petra invests in the continued development of the tournament’s standout performer.
For more than a decade, the Petra Organisation has been at the forefront of youth football development in Guyana, staging more than half a dozen competitions across age groups ranging from Under-11 to Under-18. The KFC Goodwill Secondary Schools Football Series remains the organisation’s flagship tournament and continues to provide talented players with pathways beyond local competition.

Hendricks, who first represented Charlestown Secondary before transferring to Chase’s Academic Foundation, developed into one of the country’s most promising center-backs and played a key role in Chase’s 2025 championship-winning campaign against some of the Caribbean’s top secondary school teams.
Having recently completed his CSEC examinations in June, the talented youngster is set to embark on Phase One of his high-performance training programme.
The initiative, coordinated by Brazil Link Limited, will expose Hendricks to an intensive football development programme while also allowing him to participate in a cultural exchange experience designed to broaden both his football knowledge and personal development.
His journey begins with approximately 10 days in Panama, where he will train at the Universidade Latina de Panamá EDGE Facility and Ciudad del Saber. During his stay, Hendricks is expected to train and compete against teams from Panama, Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago.
The second phase of the programme will take him to São Paulo, Brazil, where he will join two Trinidad and Tobago players for advanced training and competitive matches with Academia de Futebol Real Brasil under the guidance of respected coach Cesar Augusto.
In a brief comment, an excited Hendricks expressed gratitude for the life-changing opportunity.
“Once again, I am grateful for this opportunity. Special thanks to the Petra Organisation for recognising my talent. This will definitely be a learning experience for me, and I am looking forward to the next month or so,” Hendricks said.
The overseas training opportunity was made possible through the efforts of Petra Organisation co-directors Troy Mendonca and Marlan Cole, while special recognition was also given to Cy Padmore, whose behind-the-scenes work helped ensure the young footballer’s smooth transition as he embarks on what could be a significant step in his football career.
This version tightens the flow, emphasizes Petra’s long-standing commitment to youth football, and makes the headline focus on the organisation delivering on its promise to send the KFC MVP to Brazil for elite training.
