Kaieteur Sports – As athletes at the Intermediate and Masters levels fine tune preparations ahead of Sunday’s Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF), Intermediate/Masters competitions, long time corporate partner, Fitness Express has maintained support for the sport.
Manager of the Sheriff and John Street based business, which is approaching two decades of consistent, quality service to Guyana’s sportsmen and women, Jamie McDonald, reinforced his business’ commitment for supporting the sport.

McDonald, told Federation President Franklin Wilson at a simple hand over of the sponsorship cheque on Wednesday, that the sport will continue to receive support.
“We here at Fitness Express value the partnership with the GAPLF. We have been consistently supporting this sport ever since we started business and have seen the continued development of the athletes, both male and female. We are very proud of being a valued partner and we will continue to paly our part as a responsible corporate citizen.”
Apart from direct support towards the championships, including the Novices and Juniors held in March this year, Fitness Express assists dozens of athletes in the sport with discounted prices on supplements and equipment on a weekly basis.
Wilson on behalf of the GAPLF executive committee and members, conveyed profound gratitude to McDonald and Fitness Express for their continued investment in the sport noting that the partnership is cherished.
Sunday’s competition will get underway with the weigh-in at 07:00hrs at Saint Stanislaus College Auditorium with lifting time set for 09:00hrs.
