Riverside Cricket Club crowned Connecticut Cricket League T20 champion
Kaieteur Sports – Riverside Cricket Club was crowned the 2026 Connecticut T20 champion after beating Concord Cricket Club by 72 runs last Saturday at Kenley Park ground.
After winning the toss and decided to bat, Riverside Cricket Club piled up an adequate 186-6 from the allotted 20-overs.
Concord Cricket Club, in reply, all out for 114 in the penultimate over with only Babar Abbasi offering a fight hitting 30.

Chevon McLean and Ferdos Sherzai claimed two wickets apiece for the victorious Riverside Cricket Club giving up 18 and 20 runs respectively from their maximum four overs.
When Riverside Cricket Club batted, frontline batter Azher Ali Syed led the way with an impressive 70 which contained seven fours and three sixes.
Ali Syed, who occupied the crease for 41 balls, got good support from former Guyana youth player Adrian Sukhwa with a cameo, 23-ball 40.
Shannor Douse was also among the runs with 21 as Rachit Sharma grabbed 2-44 from four expensive overs on a responsive pitch.
Ali Syed was named player-of-the-match for his brilliant, batting performance.
Skipper of Riverside Cricket Club Ramaal Lewis praised the collective effort of his team and stated that the championship was a testament of the boys hard-work and competitive throughout the tournament.
In the final, Lewis, the former West Indies Under-19 youth Captain, scored 13 and took a wicket.
Notably, this is Riverside Cricket Club’s fourth trophy in five years.
