The company was yesterday unveiled as the official insurance sponsor of the tournament, which will see NALICO seemingly overlooking the physical well-being and preservation of some 1600 players from across 80 school teams; who will now have total insurance coverage for the duration of the endeavor.
Peters added that despite preparations gaining momentum, one eye is still on the current weather cycle as organizers are still aiming to bowl off the event but are now putting the required system in place to ensure that the tournament endures a smooth run from start to end.
Newly elected CEO of NALICO/NAFICO, Dean Robertson, said the opportunity to sponsor and take care of the tournament’s players, teams, coordinators and others is a great deal for the company, who aims to ensure that parents especially can sleep well knowing that their children will be protected at all cost.
Robertson said it was amazing to see a room filled with youths of today despite coming from different regions or villages in Guyana, just eager to compete.
Some of the perks of the comprehensive Insurance protection package includes Transportation coverages for all players, scorers, coordinators, team management support staff, umpires and others with all venues also falling under the umbrella of the protection plan; further adding more peace of mind for parents.
All schools, matches will also be covered with rides to and from venues, Robertson confirmed as he thanked organizers and other sponsors for throwing their support behind the future of Guyana’s cricket.
Meanwhile, tournament sponsors Beharry Group Chief Marketing Officer Malissa Sylvester, lauded all parties involved in making the event a reality. She especially thanked the Ministry of Education, Petra Organization for their continued development across all facets of sports locally, the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), insurance sponsors NALICO/NAFICO and media.
