Kaieteur Sports – Dominant performances from Tutorial High School, St Rose’s High and St Stanislaus College headlined Game Day 8 of the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) TBG/Georgetown City Conference on Wednesday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Tutorial High continued their commanding run in the Georgetown campaign with a crushing 57-7 victory over St Joseph High, delivering one of the most one-sided performances of the tournament so far.
Keon Lynch produced a sensational all-round display to lead Tutorial’s charge, pouring in 23 points while controlling both ends of the court with 18 rebounds, nine steals and four assists. Lynch’s dominance set the tone early as Tutorial overwhelmed St Joseph from start to finish.
Julian Charles also made a major impact in the rout, adding 20 points along with six steals, while Xavier Scott controlled the paint with 12 points and 11 rebounds to complete the emphatic 50-point triumph.
Meanwhile, St Stanislaus College secured another important victory after defeating North Georgetown Secondary 36-15 behind outstanding performances from Josiah Lee and Omari White.
Lee spearheaded the Saints’ attack with a game-high 17 points and delivered a superb all-round effort that included six rebounds and seven steals. White provided strong support with 11 points and five rebounds as St Stanislaus tightened their grip defensively throughout the encounter.
Despite the loss, North Georgetown’s Breanne Ritchie showed resilience with nine points and four rebounds.
In the third matchup of the evening, St Rose’s High powered past Chase’s Academic Foundation 45-18 to continue their strong campaign in the Georgetown Conference.
Shaquan Callender led the way with 13 points and six rebounds, while Jeremy Chung added 11 points and four rebounds in another polished team performance from St Rose’s.
Christian Williams and Juyen Paul also played key supporting roles, contributing eight points each as St Rose’s comfortably closed out the contest.
For Chase’s Academic Foundation, Sirr Sampson fought hard in defeat, recording a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while accounting for the majority of his team’s scoring.
