Kaieteur Sports – Fans were in for the treat, as the night was stepped in with raining sixes and fours from Full Clips male softball team as they batted last and got past the high total set by City Stars in the limited overs softball final of the Region 5 Softball Cricket Extravaganza.
Full Clips batted their way to into the final after defeating 592 in the first round and drawing a bye to gain a place in the final.
Full Clips walked away with the championship in the male category.
In game 1, Blairmont vs #11, No.11 batted first and score 86 for 3 in their allotted 6 overs with J. Prince top scoring with 34 and Josh contributing 24. The pick of the bowlers for Blairmont was Sachin (Lara) 1-13 from his two overs.

In rely, Blairmont cruised to 90 without lost in 4.2 overs with Shahir Saffie scoring a brilliant 53 not out and Brandon contributing 16 not out. Blairmont won by 11 wickets.
In Game 2, City Stars vs Success; Success batted first and made 96 for 2 off their 6 overs with A. Brandon top scoring with 52. Bruk picked up 2 for 10.
City Stars made 98 in 5.1 overs without losing any wicket. Mahendra top 48 not out and Ravi 31 not out. City stars won by 11 wickets.
In Game 3 – 592 vs Full Clip, 592 made 75 for 5 in their 6 overs with Mahen scoring 27 and Delarence contributing 21.
In reply, Full Clips made 78 in 2.1 overs without losing any wicket. Chase top score with 43 not out and Banks 29 not out. Full Clip won by 11 wickets.
In the Semifinals, Blairmont vs City Stars, City Stars batted first and scored 100 for 7 off their allotted six overs with M. Myhiem scoring 24 runs, and Ravo 18.
Jai picked up 1 for 8.
Blairmont in rely scored 72 for 3 in their six overs with Jai scoring 29 not out and Fazil chipped in with 29 not out. Mhyiem picked up 1 for 7. City Stars won by 28 Runs.
In the grand Finale, City Stars vs Full Clip; City Stars took first strike and made 102 for 4 in their six overs with Aryan top scoring with 43 not out and Myhiem made 21.
As the darkness stepped in, Full Clip made good in their batting, scoring 105 without losing a wicket in 5.3 overs, with Banks scoring 51 not out and Chase contributed 18 not out.
Full Clip defeated City Stars 11 wickets and claimed the Regional Chairman’s trophy.
In the lone female encounter 4R Lioness were defeated by Number 65 Knight Riders. Knight Riders batted first and score 85 for 3 in 6 overs with R. Ramdeo 32 not out and J. Kewley pitching in with 24. Abigail Scott picked up 1 for 16.
In reply 4R made 80 for 2 in their allotted 6 overs with L. Steven making 26 and A. Scott 19
Knight Riders won by 6 runs.
Supporting the one day limited overs tournament were Amaya Milk Company, DBL Group, PT Hatchery, Cozy Pub, Singh and Son Construction, Regional Chairman Mr. Recardo Phillips, Luxx Bar, Khan’s Agri Centre, Z’S Enterprise and J&G Supermarket.

Prizes were awarded also to the MVP, player of finals, best bowler and batter in an innings.
