(Kaieteur News) – If you are a businessperson, particularly a woman in business here in Guyana, it is nearly impossible for you not hear about or somehow have an encounter with dynamic radio personality and quintessential businesswoman, Sophia Dolphin.
Dolphin has over a decade of experience in public relations, where she has steadily built her brand, Glo-See Marketing & PR. She is a familiar voice on local radio frequencies, known for promoting upcoming and popular brands.
The businesswoman is also into content creation and social media brand management. She absolutely loves what she does. She told The Waterfalls, that she has had to overcome many personal obstacles and challenges to build a family business all in the name of her children.
Dolphin said her journey is one deeply rooted in faith, resilience, motherhood, purpose, and perseverance.
She told this publication “I am a full-time mother to my three beautiful children — Orion, Ezekiel, and Emma — while also leading Glo-See Marketing & PR, a growing advertising and public relations agency focused on purposeful storytelling, community impact, holistic wellness advocacy, and meaningful brand visibility.”
This week’s Special Person has spent over a decade in the retail industry as a Sales and Marketing Manager.
She said before launching her business, those experience shaped her passion for branding, customer relations, marketing, and helping people find value through trust and connection.
“I loved meeting new people daily, understanding their needs, and providing solutions that genuinely made a difference. Over time, I realised that when customers trust you, it pushes you to continuously raise the bar, improve your service, and pour even more into others.”
She said, “Seeing the outcome of successful campaigns and watching businesses grow fueled my passion even further and inspired me to build something of my own.”
However, behind the achievements is a story of overcoming adversity and rebuilding through God’s grace. Dolphin learnt the importance of family bonds very early in life through her grandmother, whom she said never neglected her even when her parents separated.
“She became one of the greatest influences in my life and faith journey. Due to difficult circumstances, I was forced to drop out of school at the age of 12, but at 19, I received a second chance at education through Critchlow Labour College,” Dolphin said.
Reflecting on that period of her life, Dolphin said that she certainly believes, “God was preparing me all along for a greater purpose.”
She noted: “Throughout every season, my faith remained my anchor. The teachings and values my grandmother instilled in me became the foundation that carried me through some of the darkest moments of my life. I survived domestic violence, faced financial and emotional hardships, navigated the challenges of COVID-19 while raising my children, and continued pursuing purpose despite difficult circumstances.”
The devoted mother and entrepreneur (Mompreneur) said staying closely connected to God’s guidance has been the key ingredient behind her healing, consistency, growth, and ability to persevere.
With motherhood is at the centre of everything she does, Dolphin declared, “my children as not only my motivation but also part of the vision behind the Glo-See business journey.”
“Each of my children plays a role within Glo-See Marketing & PR in their own unique way, and I intentionally involve them in experiences that build confidence, discipline, creativity, character, leadership, and togetherness. I strongly believe in creating opportunities not just for my family, but for others as well through collaboration, outsourcing, and meaningful partnerships.”
This is evident at Dolphin’s annual Brunch for Bosses business expo and networking event; a platform she created to allow business people to particularly female entrepreneurs to share and network with other business and as a result growing their own net worth.
She said, “Through my platforms and personal experiences, I am passionate about empowering women, especially single mothers, to understand that their current situation does not define their future. I want women to know that healing, growth, and success are possible with faith, discipline, support, and the courage to keep going. Often, our greatest limitations are the ones we place on ourselves.”
One of the experiences closest to her heart is her participation in the Mother and Daughter Pageant with her only daughter Emma.
“For us, it was much deeper than a pageant. It was an opportunity to showcase our bond, friendship, love, and intentional parenting journey. I wanted the world to see the importance of nurturing emotional connection with our children and raising them through faith, communication, positive guidance, and love,” she added.

Sophia Dolphin and her three children are the faces behind the operations of Glo-see marketing & PR.
At Glo-See Marketing & PR, Dolphin and her children believe public relations should go far beyond promotion.
“Our approach is holistic — combining digital marketing, branding, social media, and digital radio to help businesses grow while also using our platforms to inspire and uplift communities.”
Through both radio and social media, Glo-See creates spaces not only for brands to gain visibility and connect with audiences, but also to encourage conversations surrounding wellness, health, empowerment, faith, and personal growth.
“We believe businesses thrive even more when they are connected to purpose and positive impact.”
For this family business, it is about creating the full package — helping brands tell authentic stories while also using media to motivate, educate, and inspire people to become healthier, stronger, and more purposeful versions of themselves.
She noted that balance between business growth, wellness advocacy, community influence, and meaningful storytelling is what truly sets our company apart.
“Above all, my greatest motivation will always be my children,” she said adding that “In today’s noisy world, I want Orion, Ezekiel, and Emma to truly know who they are, where they came from, their purpose, their value, and that they are capable of living limitless lives through faith, self-belief, discipline, and God’s guidance.”
She noted that if there is one thing that readers take away from her story, she hopes it is this, “setbacks do not cancel purpose.”
“There is life after pain, there is growth after struggle, and there is purpose even in difficult seasons. With God’s grace, a supportive community, and determination, it is possible to rebuild your life while inspiring others to do the same.”
To this end, Dolphin said she is incredibly grateful that the work, she is doing through Glo-See Marketing & PR.
She said the agency continues to be recognized both locally and internationally.
In 2025, she was honoured with the Influential Women Leaders Award and also received a global recognition award that reminded me that purpose-driven work never goes unnoticed.
“Another unforgettable experience was attending the GETForum in El Salvador to represent my company among inspiring entrepreneurs and leaders from around the world. I remain thankful to every organisation that has recognised our work and the positive impact we strive to create,” Dolphin stated.
