(Kaieteur News) – Reliance Hustlers Sports Club began their three-match tour of Trinidad and Tobago with an exhilarating, 1-run win on Friday against host-team Munroe Sports Club.
The Essequibo Coast-based team is in the twin-island republic for two T20s and a 30-over game.
After winning the toss and opted to take first knock, Reliance Hustlers reached a challenging 123-7 at the expiration of the 20-overs.
The home-team was all out for 123 in exactly 20-overs.
Jason, only name given, hit a top-score of 30 for Munroe Sports Club as right-arm seamer Mark Gonsalves grabbed 2-11 from his maximum four overs.
He was ably supported by another medium-pacer and former Guyana youth player Rovin Parasram who took 2-15 off two tidy overs.
Earlier, Hustlers struggled for momentum after wickets kept falling regularly. However, ex-Guyana youth player Nathan Persaud helped stabilize things with a solid 30, an innings comprised of two fours and a six.
Gonsalves proved his all-round capability by hitting a useful 19 not out.
Gonsalves received a trophy for his outstanding bowling performance, while Persaud was chosen as the best-batter and skipper Trevis Simon for being the best-fielder after taking two pulsating catches. Both players collected a trophy each for their effort.
Meanwhile, Guyanese boys, who are making their maiden trip to Trinidad and Tobago, will be back in action on Saturday (2026-05-02) to clash with Transbrokerage X1 in Couva in another T20 fixture.
They will then wrap-up their tour on Monday at the famous Brian Lara Cricket Academy ground where they are set meet up with Cosmos Cricket Club.
