Massy Distribution School’s U18 Football finalists to be decided today
Kaieteur Sports – The race to the final of the 2026 Massy Distribution–sponsored Petra Organisation Under-18 Schools Football Championship hits boiling point today, as four in-form sides collide in a high-stakes semifinal doubleheader at the Ministry of Education Ground.
Powerhouses Chase’s Academic Foundation and West Ruimveldt Secondary stand just one win away from another championship appearance, but both face stern tests against dangerous opponents in Charlestown Secondary and Santa Rosa Secondary.

Chase’s Academic Foundation enter the first semifinal brimming with confidence and still unbeaten in the tournament. Known for their free-scoring, high-tempo style, they have swept aside opponents with ease so far. But Charlestown Secondary won’t roll over. They’ve shown grit throughout the competition, and their defensive unit will need to deliver its best performance yet to contain the relentless Chase attack.
The second semifinal promises just as much intensity. West Ruimveldt Secondary, also unbeaten, take on a confident Santa Rosa Secondary outfit in what shapes up as a true 50-50 battle. Santa Rosa have impressed with their balance and depth, while West Ruimveldt will look to their talismanic striker Donovan Welcome to deliver in the big moment. Head coach Leon Bishop has already sounded the warning—his side, he insists, is “ready for the challenge.”
Two matches. Four contenders. Only two spots available to the final.
Santa Rosa Secondary to battle West Ruimveldt Secondary for a spot in the finals, both teams going into the contest unbeaten.
By the end of the evening, the championship picture will be clear, while the losing sides shift focus to the third-place playoff. Beyond that, there’s still plenty at stake, as teams finishing in the top eight secure qualification for the league phase later this year.

Massy Distribution is the title sponsor of the 12th annual championship, with support from the Demerara Mutual Group and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport. The tournament is sanctioned by the Ministry of Education. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm, with everything on the line.
