2026 Men’s RANS 15’s Championships: Bermuda rally to come from behind win, as Guyana suffer 9-5 defeat
Guyana blew a good start before allowing Bermuda to claw themselves back in the game.
Kaieteur Sports – Guyana’s senior Green Machine blew a huge lead only to suffer a big comeback loss at the hands of Bermuda yesterday during the National 15s Rugby Americas North (RAN) Championship match yesterday at the National Park.
Guyana, ranked 70, led Bermuda (ranked 74) 5-3 by the halfway mark, following a closely contested first half which was filled with aggressive plays.
Bermuda did well to cut the lead before the final whistle, having pulled off some amazing plays to help grab 3 goals, after Brandon Sagster swung the pendulum with 3 successful penalties converted that eventually laid the foundation for the win.

His shots in the 48th and 62nd minutes following his penalty on the 18th minute mark prior to the halftime break, further gave the Bermudans the edge as it helped to set up the landslide lead.
Guyanese Lionel Holder, had an eventful time during the 18th minute after trying and failing to convert his opportunity, to which Sagster eventually capitalized shortly after.
Bermuda nevertheless dominated the second half of the game, keeping the home team at bay as they romped to what was an emphatic come-from-behind victory.
Guyana will now look to regroup and reassess their plans as they turn their attention to Barbados, who they play on June 6, as they seek some revenge following the thrashing received at the hands of the Bajans the last time the two teams met.
The local boys will then travel to the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago where they face the home team on June 26.
