Changes made to Flying Ace Cycle executive as Roberts retains Presidency

Kaieteur Sports – Founder and Coach of the Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC) of Berbice, Randolph Roberts, was reelected President when the club held its election of office bearers recently in New Amsterdam. Educator and Mayor of New Amsterdam, Wayne Wright Mc Intosh, was voted in as the New Patron taking over from long serving Patron, former Mayor and businessman Errol Alphonso.

Others on the executives are first Vice President Linden Dowridge, businessman Jamal King takes over as Second Vice President.

Brandon Braithwaite is the Secretary, while Randolph Roberts will remain the Treasurer.

There are four committee members namely Franco Crawford, Fizal Ally, Pearl Arokium and Balram Narine.

Roberts thanked the members for their support over the past year and looked forward to even more support during the coming year.

He congratulated all the members for a job well done and had special words of commendation for the cyclists who participated in the club’s activities last year while wishing a better year in 2026. He thanked sponsors including Mayor Wainwright Mc Intosh, Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Ian Amsterdam, A. Ally and Sons, Raj and Daughters Motor Cycle Establishment, The Benjamin Family and Franco Crawford among others. He also thanked the Guyana Police Force for their assistance and cooperation over the years.

The club’s first event for the year is the annual Mashramani Cycle road race around the town of New Amsterdam. (Samuel Whyte)
