Kaieteur Sports – Archery Guyana (AG) successfully hosted its National Ranking Event 2025 on Wednesday 31st December, 2025, at the Everest Cricket Club Ground, bringing together top archers from clubs across the country in a highly competitive and professionally officiated event to close off a dynamic year for the archery fraternity.
The Old Year’s tournament formed a critical part of the national ranking calendar, providing athletes with the opportunity to earn ranking points, demonstrate technical progression, and benchmark performance as Guyana continues to strengthen its archery development pathway.
The competition was conducted under the supervision of certified officials, ensuring adherence to established competition standards.
Officials included Chairperson of Judges: Robert Singh, Judges Faraad Gani and Afzal Karim, Director of Shooting: Umasankar Madray and Results Manager Saeed Karim
The president of Archery Guyana, Ms. Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, delivered closing remarks at the Presentation Ceremony, thanking athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters for their commitment and sportsmanship throughout the day.
She congratulated all medalists on performances reflecting discipline, focus, and consistent effort, while also recognising every archer who took part, noting that participation and perseverance are equally worthy of acknowledgement.
Reflecting on the significance of hosting the event on Old Year’s Day, the President noted that the competition served as a reminder that success in archery, and in life, is built on patience, respect, and dedication to the process.
She reaffirmed Archery Guyana’s commitment to fair play, fair competition, athlete development, and unity within the archery community as the Federation looks ahead to the New Year, and extended best wishes for a safe, peaceful, and successful year ahead.
The Board of Directors of Archery Guyana extends sincere thanks to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, the National Sports Commission, and the Guyana Olympic Association for their continued institutional support.
Appreciation is also extended to Service Guyana Inc., Guyana Beverages Inc., and Oasis Waters for their valued support, as well as to the Board of Directors of the Everest Cricket Club for the use of its facilities.
Special thanks are further extended to Lieutenant Colonel Bhageshwar Murli for his assistance and support toward the successful staging of the event.
Archery Guyana extends sincere appreciation to all clubs, athletes, officials, and volunteers whose efforts ensured the successful staging of the event.
