Kaieteur Sports – Talented young Guyanese athlete, Zion Hickerson, finished in 2nd place in the boy’s division at the recently concluded Casely International Tennis Championship in Florida.
The tournament attracted 200 tennis players. En route to the final, Zion overcame Japanese Kanata Arai 6-4 6-1 and Costa Rican Eitan Nelkenbaun 6-3 6-4. He also beat Guatemalan Constantino Adala 6-2 6-3.
In the final, he lost to Columbian Samuel Radhakrishnan 6-4 6-1.
Last week the Little Mo International tournament worked as ample preparation for this past week’s success. The multitalented Zion Hickerson now turns his attention to preparing for the US Junior Squash Championships fixed for the city of Philadelphia.
