Kaieteur Sports- The continuous inclement weather had the final say in the Blairmont Community Centre Independence Cricket Festival and Day of Sport.
The day’s activity, which was planned for last Sunday at the Club facilities, Blairmont, West Bank, Berbice also had a reserved day on Monday but inclement weather ruined both days of the programme.
The organisers dubbed the tournament the inaugural Floodlight Independence Cup, Doomsday 100Balls Cricket, Festival and Day of Sport.
Several First Division cricket teams were scheduled to take part including -Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC), Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Cotton Tree Cricket Club (Die Hard), Young Warriors, West Berbice Superkings and the home team Blairmont Blazers.
Other attractions were also on the cards including a Domino Competition, 3-a-side Volleyball and Horseback Riding among others.
The activity attracted a great number of sponsors.
A new date is to be fixed.
