Kaieteur Sports- Ruimveldt Sports Club mauled Peter’s Hall Sports Club by 139-runs to secure their spot in the final of the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA) 40-Over tournament, thanks some brilliant all-round work.
Batting first, Ruimveldt racked up 272 for 7 after 40 overs. Jeremiah Scott led with 59, while Deonarine Seegobin (44) and veteran all-rounder Rickey Sargeant (40), with useful contributions from Danny Narayan (34) and Rovaldo Pereira (34).
Peter’s Hall bowling suffered with Ryan Seecharan picking up 2-51 and Yogendra Singh 2-56. Their batting also imploded as Ryan Seecharan (24), Dwayne Graham (22) and Shameer Fazal (20) tried to get going.
Peter’s Hall were eventually mowed down for 133 in 27.3 overs thanks to some classy bowling from Sameer Hussain who grabbed 3-24, while Pereira returned with exceptional figures of 2-1.
The vet Sargeant, also capped off a good game with bat and ball, claiming 2-31 runs and Ntini Permaul (2-37). Meanwhile, Ruimveldt will face Herstelling ‘A’ in the tournament final.
