Kaieteur Sports- The Trophy Stall located in Bourda Market, Berbice and other areas in Guyana continues to be a leading entity in terms of its benevolence towards sports and other community activities.

Once again, the entity will be a significant contributor towards the Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Phagwah Horse Race meet which is slated for this Sunday 16th March at the club’s entity, Bush Lot Farm Corentyne, Berbice.
There are six races on the day’s card which has prizes in cash, trophies and other rewards totaling over 6M dollars on offer for the outstanding performers.
The Trophy Stall through the generosity of Managing Director Mr. Ramesh Sunich has donated the wining trophies and other goodies for the Top Jockey, Trainer and Stables among others.
Meanwhile, some of the best race horses in Guyana have taken entry for the feature C1 and lower race, The event which is dubbed the Metro Stakes is being sponsored by the Metro Stationery and Office Supplies company.
The winner will race away with a heft prize of $1.2M and trophy. The seven furlongs event has a top-notch lineup. Among those raring to go are Beckham James, Spankhurst, John Bull, Ritorna Vincetori, Stormy Victory and Stolen Money. They all will be looking to race away with the top money and other goodies on offer. A mouthwatering affair is anticipated.
The other races also have some of the best horses in those categories lined up for action and an action pack day of racing is anticipated. The other events listed are the race for F class and lower horses for a winning prize of $400,000 and trophy over seven furlongs.
An event for horses classified H and lower with a first place winning of $350,000 and a trophy over seven furlongs.
The race for three years-old Guyana Bred horses which has a winner’s prize of $300,000 and trophy over six furlongs.
One for J and lower horses for the $300,000 and trophy top prize.
The L-class open race which carries a winners take of $300,000 and trophy.
Despite the inclement weather the KMTC is in excellent shape and a bumper crowd is expected to attend.
The KMTC is accredited with staging well organized horse race meets and an action pack day of racing is anticipated.
Matriarch of the KMTC and Honorary President Mrs. Chand Kennard will be will be coordinating the day’s activities.
