-EBDCA/D&R Construction and Machinery Rental 40-over Cricket continues
Kaieteur Sports- The East Bank of Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA)/D&R Construction and Machinery Rental Second Division 40-over Cricket Tournament continues this weekend with two highly anticipated matches at the Farm and YMCA grounds.
In today’s action, North Soesdyke Sports Club will take on Peter’s Hall Sports Club at Farm Ground, while Silverbullet Sports Club will face off against Providence Cricket Club at YMCA Ground. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
Meanwhile, in last weekend’s lone encounter, Herstelling ‘A’ secured another victory in the 2025 season with a 56-run win over Sandpiper Sports Club. Batting first, Herstelling ‘A’ posted a solid 249 all out in 36.4 overs, thanks to standout performances from Richie Looknauth and Arshad Ali. Looknauth played a composed innings of 60 runs, laced with eight boundaries and a six, while Ali contributed a steady 45 (7×4, 1×6). Abhilash Dookie (3-38) and Anthony Ifill (2-38) were the pick of the bowlers for Sandpipers, helping to restrict Herstelling’s total.
In response, Sandpipers struggled to keep up with the required run rate, eventually folding for 193. Despite a fighting half-century from Troy Gonsalves, Herstelling’s bowlers kept the pressure on, with Sagar Hatirami taking 4-43 and Ali completing an excellent all-round performance by grabbing 3-8.
With the tournament nearing its climax, cricket fans can expect more thrilling encounters as team’s battle for the 2025 Second Division 40-over championship title.
