BCB 2023 Cricket Season …Dave West Indian Imports tournament
Kaieteur Sports – Second Division teams in the ancient county are been kept busy on the cricket field as the Berbice Cricket Board pushes ahead with its 2023 cricket tournament. Eighteen second division teams from the new Amsterdam/Canje area are currently involved in the Dave West Indian Imports 40 overs tournament.
Scores from some of the matches played are:
1. Guymine defeated Kendall’s Union by six wickets at the Locaber Cricket Ground.
Kendall’s Union 78 all out in 14.2 overs. H. Harris 18, B. Baker 19, A. Khalill 12.
Joel Seitaram 5 for 15, Rocky Hutson 3 for 28 and John Gawshan 2 for 15.
Guymine 81 for 4 in 9.2 overs. Devon Clements 33 not out, Damion DaSilva 15 not out.
Goed Banana Land 83 all out in 16.5 overs. M. Persaud 20, J. Ali 19, A. Drupersaud 12.
Canje Titans 88 for 3 in 10.5 overs.
Rose Hall Canje ‘C’ 32 all out in 17 overs.
Kendall’s Union 33 for 3 in 5 overs J. Wenjallum 18 not out. R. Ramdeholl 1 for 16 and D. Sooknanadan 2 for 13.
Tucber Park 298 for 7 in 40 overs.

Edinburg 185 all out in 30 overs. H. Wesley 87, K. Gangaram 3 for 40, K. Rampersaud 2 for 45.
The Dave West Indian Imports 40 overs tournament involves the hosting of 5 sub association internal competitions -West Berbice, Berbice River, New Amsterdam/Canje, Lower/Central Corentyne and Upper Corentyne. Wiruni has so far emerged as Champions of the Berbice River Zone and Cotton Tree as the West Berbice Champions. Teams in the other zones are currently playing to determine the other champion who would go on to play in a special playoff tournament to decide the overall Berbice Champions.
