Kaieteur Sports – Prepare for an exhilarating football action from October 29 – November 12 as the highly anticipated Annual Hamilton Green’s Cup is making its grand return to the iconic Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground. Get ready to witness the kickoff of this annual football Inter-Ward Knockout action this Sunday starting at 17:00 hours.
The tournament which is named after esteemed former Mayor of Georgetown and Prime Minister of Guyana, Hamilton Green is set to be high-intensity football extravaganza.
The tournament kicks off with a thrilling lineup of eight matches to ignite the 2023 edition. Brace yourself for an enthralling showdown featuring some of the most exceptional local football talent. The stage is set, and the excitement is palpable.
Mark your calendars for the match dates: October 29, November 1, 5, and the grand culmination on November 12. This nine-a-side inter-ward football competition promises a series of riveting 30-minute matches, each consisting of two intense 15-minute halves.
Rest assured, the tournament will adhere to all FIFA regulations, with the exception of the Off-side offence. Meanwhile, to ensure a level playing field, any player receiving a red card will be automatically disqualified from participating in the next game.
Lennox Arthur, the mastermind behind this football spectacle, kindly requests that all participating teams arrive at least one hour before kickoff time on game day to ensure a seamless flow throughout the competition.
