Kaieteur Sports – Weather permitting, first-division cricket action is expected to resume in Berbice today with six matches in both East and West Berbice.
The teams will begin action in the quest for supremacy in the Speaker’s Cup T20 cricket competition. The competition will see Berbice River making a return to first Division Cricket.
The teams expected to participate are Rose Hall Community Centre (RHCC) in East Canje, Police Cricket Club, Tucber Park Cricket Club of New Amsterdam, Berbice River, Blairmont Community Centre, Upper Corentyne, Young Warriors Cricket Ground (YWCC) West Berbice, Albion Community Centre, Port Mourant Cricket Club, Rose Hall Town and Youth and Sports Club and Skeldon Cricket Club.
The fixtures wiil see Rose Hall Community Centre hosting Police Sports Club at the RHCC Ground in Canje while Tucber Park Cricket Club will be at home against the Berbice River team.
Blairmont Community Centre (BCC) will play Upper Corentyne at the No 69 Ground, Corentyne while Young Warriors Cricket Ground (YWCC) will travel to West Berbice for their encounter.
Albion CC clashes with Port Mourant CC in a heavyweight encounter at the Port Mourant Ground while Rose Hall Town and Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) will be at home in their match against Skeldon Cricket Club (SCC) at the Area H Ground.
