Kaieteur Sports – Day two of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), Tiger Rental Under-13 Football League was contested at the National Training Centre, Providence, yesterday, as Bartica, Essequibo, and East Demerara picked up a win each, Rupununi and East Bank won one and lost one while Georgetown and Bartica collected two wins.
In the first match, Rupununi edged past East Bank 2 – 1. Rupununi’s goal scores were Joao Hamlett (27’) and Damilo John in the 35th minute, while Micheal Copia nailed the lone goal for East Demerara in the 20th minute in a losing effort.
Essequibo suffered a heavy defeat by Georgetown; among the goal scorers for Georgetown were Fabio Kowlessar (1’), Jashawn Hanyes (3’) and Decquan Hetsberger (45’) to complete a 3-0 win.
Bartica later needled East Berbice compliments of a Labrun Wharton-goal in the 60th minute to complete a 1-0 victory.
West Berbice held West Demerara to a 1-0 result as Keysean Mingo scored the lone goal in the 58th minute.
Georgetown won their second match by defeating Upper Demerara 1-0 as Dilshawn Alleyne netted the lone goal of the match in the 27th minute.
Joao Hamlett picked up his eighth goal of the competition in a losing effort against East Demerara. East Demerara thrashed Rupununi 4-1 as Kennard Halley (2’, 16’), Isiah Williams (9’) and Malicai Washington (26’) accounted for the goals.
Meanwhile, in the last two matches on day two, Bartica defeated Essequibo 3 – 0 with goals from Riley Tracey in the 15th, Chris Anderson netted his first a minute later then Tracey nailed a second goal to complete the victory and East Bank held West Berbice to a 2 – 0 result as Micheal Correia and Samuel Tasher netted the winning goals for East Bank in the first and 58th minute, respectively.
The League concludes today at the same venue from 9:30hrs.
