Teams promise mouthwatering ExxonMobil U14 Football Championship finale
The battle lines are drawn and tomorrow, some of Region 4’s best young talent will take to the Ministry of Education ground on CARIFESTA Avenue for the ExxonMobil U14 Football Championship.

Defending champion, East Ruimveldt will tackle Charlestown in the Girl’s finale, while Ann’s Grove and Charlestown will do battle in the Boy’s championship.
At yesterday’s press conference at Mango Walk restaurant, Troy Mendonca, Co-Director of the Petra Organization said his entity is “indeed happy to be at this juncture, it was challenging but nevertheless the schools have supported us during this period and must be commended.”
Mendonca called the tournament a resounding success, even though the teams were affected by the departure of players to the national programme which highlights the growth and benefit of the event.
“Come Saturday I would like to see an exciting game that is officiated fairly and I have no doubt when the final whistle is blown, Charlestown will be taking home the u14 championship,” said Mark Whyte, coach of Charlestown Secondary boys team.
Malcolm Hendricks, the team’s captain pointed out that they’re keen on ending the night with the coveted trophy.
Ann’s Grove coach Tessa Nedd said that despite the challenges, she’s “very excited to reach this juncture to be able to play in the final and we are not going home without the trophy.”
In the Girl’s division, the clash will be a rematch of the inaugural edition, which was won by Charlestown.
Chinwendu Rover, captain of Charlestown made a rallying call for supporters to come out and witness what she said will be an entertaining encounter.
