Mr. Chin Construction Softball competition set for Woodley Park Sports Ground

The Woodley Park Sports Club Ground will come alive this Sunday when several softball teams across West Berbice take to the field and battle for the inaugural Mr. Chin Construction Softball title.

According to the organizers, teams will be vying for cash incentives and trophies. Trophies will be awarded to the winner, runner-up, best bowler, best batsman and man of the final.

The competition is being organized by the Woodley Park Softball team and with the aim of bringing back sports into the village after a hiatus for a few years.

Mr. Eton Ross (Mr. Chin), an overseas based Guyanese businessman, said he is very pleased to sponsor the event and stated that it is his responsibility as the CEO of the company to ensure that the construction company plays its role in its social responsibility by giving back to the community of West Berbice.

Mr. Ross further went on to say that sports is the hallmark in getting young people positively involved in having a healthy lifestyle and also it helps to create a disciplined society.

The organizers thank Mr. Ross for his input in ensuring that sports, especially, cricket is being revived in the community.
