– Kicks off May 15

Bartica FA Executive Members and the General Council Members following the Senior League launch on Friday evening.
Kaieteur News – “It’s time for Bartica to have football on the go, bigger and better and here is where we start that journey. The Bartica Football Association is officially launching the Bartica Football Association Men’s Senior League and we’re looking forward to a great and exciting league of football.”
Those were the words of President of the Bartica Football Association (BFA), Alden Marslowe, in his opening remarks at the launching of the BFA Senior Men’s League 2022.
The launching of the league was held at the Bartica town council board room on Friday in the presence of The Regional Chairman, Mayor Gifford Marshall, other members of the Association’s executive body, Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Lyndon France and the Referee in charge of Bartica Referee Council, Leon Stewart.
Members and representatives of the nine clubs that will be a part of the league were also present at the launch.
During the launching of the League the co-ordinator and the GFF technical support officer to the BFA outlined the rules and regulations and also handed over the fixtures of the league.
The representative of the Guyana Football Federation and technical support officer to the BFA mentioned that he was pleased to see the turnout of representatives from clubs that will be participating in the league.
He further went on state that the GFF is on a path to making Guyana’s Football first class with some of the responsibilities to be placed on clubs locally to get the early start. He reinforced that statement by adding that punctuality is the key so he is expecting all clubs to be on time, organized and ready for the start of the league. Mayor Marshall added that he’s very grateful and it’s pleasing to know Bartica has an event as such.
At the end of the launching, the BFA members handed out balls, bibs and cones to each member who will be playing in the league.
Teams participating in the league included Rivers View FC, Ballers FC, Rising Stars FC, Lazio Untied FC,
Agatash United FC, AK Galaxy FC, Beacon United FC, Potaro Strikers FC and Wolves United FC
The league is set to start on May 15, 2022 and will be played at three venues; Bartica Community Centre Ground, Rivers View Sports Group and Dogg Point Playfield. At total of 36 matches are scheduled to be played during the period of May 15 and July 2.
