It was Albion’s 15th title in the 20 years’ history of the match, organised by Rose Hall Town’s Businessman Deonarain Balram in memory of his late father Balram Shane and also as a fund raising venture for both the Albion and Port Mourant Cricket Clubs.

The winning Albion Captain, test player Devendra Bishoo, received trophies and cash incentive from members of the Balram Family.
Albion batted first and posted 215 all out in 48.5 of their allotted 50 overs after being 197 for 6 in the 40th over at one stage.
Adrian Sukhwa led the way for Albion with a well composed 78 and was well supported by National U17 batsman Sarwan Chaitnarine with 37.
Port Mourant, who fielded guest players Kellon Carmichael, Alex Algoo, Paul Wintz, Devon Clements and Ameer Khan in their lineup, had no answer to the spin attack of Albion and were routed for 109 in 39.4 overs.
Left-arm-spinner Kelvin Umrao bagged 4 wickets and was well assisted by Chaitnarine with his off-spin who accounted for three scalps.
Albion took home the Balram Shane trophy and $140,000, while Port Mourant received the runner-up trophy and $120,000. The teams also received addition incentives from ticket sales.
The man of the match award went to Adrian Sukhwa. He also got the prize for the best batsman on show. He took home trophies and cash incentives. Kelvin Umroa got a trophy and cash incentives for being the best bowler on show.
Promising Port Mourant youth player Jonathan Ramnauth was presented with a new bat by Mr. Balram as an incentive for success so far and encouragement for him to continue his good showing.
Sponsor Mr. Deonarine Balram used the opportunity to thank the teams for participating in the competition and congratulated Albion for winning.
According to Balram it is one of the longest family sponsored cricket tournaments. He mentioned players such as test players Devendra Bishoo, Narsingh Deonarine, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Adrian Permaul as well as Roopnarine Ramgobin and Gudakesh Motie and Anthony Bramble among those who would have played in the tournament.
