Host Trinidad and Tobago surged to the West Indies Fullbore Shooting Council Short Range title and in the process dethroned Barbados which had won on home soil in 2018. All the action unfolded at the Tucker Valley Range,Chaguaramas and was hosted by the Northern Rifle Association of Trinidad and Tobago (NRATT) under the auspices of the West Indies Full Bore Shooting Council (WIFBSC).

Former WIFBSC Individual Champion Lenox Braithwaite shot the highest score of any team on Saturday last (148.14) but his effort could not land Guyana the Short Range title as the host team, led by 2019 Individual champion, Varma Rambarran who shot a total of 147.18, led T&T to 1130.80 points just two more than the Guyanese (1128.65) to win the most coveted tem trophy amongst the Caribbean marksmen and women.
Whilst not winning the title, Captain Mahendar Persaud in an invited comment said that his charges still made themselves and country proud given some challenging circumstances. He noted that all the shooters did their best and summed up that the Trinidad and Tobago side, capitalised on their home advantage to the fullest.
Former champs Barbados ended third with a total score of 1075.60 with Antigua and Barbuda next with 1063.58. Team Canada won the match with a score of 1142.71 while Team England was fourth with 1115.74.
The Guyanese remain the kings of the Long-Range Team Title and will hold on to the Milex/Crown Mining trophy until next year.

WIFBSC Individual Championships 2019
The Individual championships was won in record style by T&T’s Dr. Varma Rambarran who dropped just a single shot in totaling 404.39; in the process he dethroned Guyanese Ransford Goodluck who tallied 392 points to end third.
Goodluck and countryman Lennox Braithwaite ended with the same points but were separated by Vs, Braithwaite accumulating 34 to Goodluck’s, 30.
Antigua and Barbuda’s Anderson Perry was fourth (392.24), Roberto Tiwari fifth (386.27), T&T’s Justin Lall sixth (386.26), Barbados’ Jason Wood seventh (385.23), Antigua & Barbuda’s Laurne Benjamin eight (380.20), T&T’s Norris Gomez ninth (377.24), Antigua & Barbuda’s Rev. Olson Daniel 10th (377.15).
GuyanaNRA Secretary, Ryan Sampson won the bronze medal in the O-Class category. A total of 69 shooters took part in the Individual championships. GuyanaNRA Vice Captain Dylan Fields and teammate Sherwin Felicien only competed in the Team Match.
