It was more class that luck as Lucky Star of the Cheefoon Stable outclassed its opponents to take the feature event when the Kennard Memorial Turf Club held its annual Boxing Day horserace meet. The event was held at the Kennard Memorial Turf Club Facilities, Bush Lot Corentyne Berbice.

Running in the feature G2 and lower 7 furlongs even with jockey Appadhu in the saddles, the animal broke early and was always among the front runners. The racehorse was never really challenged as jockey Appadhu timed his sprint home perfectly to win easily and take the $1M first prize and the Metro trophy up for grabs.
Settling star of the Sheriff Stable with Ross on the mount with a late burst settled for second with Isn’t She Charming third and Chamaylee fourth.
Other winners on the day were in the event for two year maiden horses: Mahaica Star shone brightly to win from Awesome Banner, Humming Bird and it’s a Real Storm.
J and lower event saw Mary Ann touching down ahead of Plain Land, Massapequa Dr and Miss Angelie.
Secret Flyer won the L class Open race from Jungle Prince, Gold Again and Uprising.
The Rock was solid in winning the L class Non winner’s race from Red Weasel, Physical Disturbance and Rosie.
The L class non earners event was won by Irish Boy with Physical Disturbance, Stolen Diamond and Rosie the others that placed.
The champion jockey title went to the consistent Colin Ross.
