Young footballers of the East Ruimveldt community have expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Verman Bedessee, Chief Executive Officer of Bedessee Imports of New York and Chairman of the Guyana Hemp Industries for his support and generous contribution towards the development of football in the community.
Mr. Bedessee donated a quantity of bibs and footballs to the East Ruimveldt Football Club and the Wave Heart Football Club.
Speaking after a presentation match at East Ruimveldt Secondary School ground on Saturday 2nd December where Wave Heart under 15 A Team defeated their B Team by two goals to NIL which were scored by Emperor Cosbert and Paul Williams.
The Young Cosbert expressed that the support will open up new opportunities for our young people as well as help develop our football skills.
“The contribution of Mr. Bedessee will enable us to participate in more tournaments, and these events will broaden our discipline on and off the field. Without the support of people like you we will not be able to reach our goals,” he added.
Meanwhile, at East Ruimveldt Community Center ground at another presentation game, Eastveldt FC under 17 team defeated their under 15 team by one goal to NIL which was scored by Akeem Young.
The young footballers expressed thanks and not only are the youths enjoying the sports of football but also learning many valuable life lessons.
The presentations is part of the Guyana Hemp Industries/ Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club month of sporting activities to raise the awareness of the importance for the establishment of an Industrial Hemp Industry in Guyana.
Meanwhile on Saturday December 8th, in observance of Industrial Hemp Liberation Day a number of sports events will be held at several venues.
