The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, MS on Sunday 15th April, 2018, would be hosting its 28th Annual Awards Ceremony at the St. Francis Training Centre to honour its outstanding members and cricketers. The Awards Ceremony, the largest in Guyana, would involve the honouring of 40 Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club members, while the Club would also be honouring Law Enforcement Officers, Retired Teachers, Outstanding Teachers and Top Students from several schools. A total of close to $2.5M worth of trophies, medals, gifts and special prizes would be shared out to all the Awardees.
A Special Committee headed by veteran Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster and Vice President Mark Papannah have started the preparation and on Tuesday last received two major donations from Canadian Surplus of Providence, East Bank, Demerara and Mr. Bishwa Panday of P&P Insurance Brokers of North Road, Georgetown.
Canadian Surplus handed over a large amount of electrical equipments and educational materials. The educational materials included pens, pencils and pencil sharpeners and would be shared out to schools during the Award Ceremony.
P&P Insurance Brokers donated six trophies which would be used to honour the Most Promising Cricketer 2017, Most Discipline Player 2017 and Most Committed Member 2017 among others.
Foster hailed the support of the two Companies and stated that Corporate Guyana has full confidence
in the work of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, due to its outstanding record of achievement and most importantly, to fulfill every commitment made to sponsors. The support of the two Companies would assist the Club to honour its members who worked beyond the call of duty to make sure that the Rose Hall Town based Club successfully complete a record of 712 activities. The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Cricketer of the Year would take home over $350, 000 worth of prizes, while other awards would include Most Promising Cricketer, Most Improved Player, Discipline Player of the Year, Under-15 Player of the Year, Female Cricketer of the Year and Under-19 Cricketer of the Year. Among the Awardees for 2019 would be players like Jonathan Rampersaud, Mahendra Gopilall, Shemaine Campbelle, Clinton Pestano, Jeremy Sandia, Kevlon Anderson, Junior Sinclair, Keith Simpson, Chanderpaul Govindan and Kevlin Sinclair.
The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club extends thanks to the Management of Canadian Surplus Guyana and P&P Insurance Broker for their assistance. Country Manager of Canadian Surplus Guyana, Mr. Ramsundar Bisnauth stated that his Company was pleased to be associated with the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and disclosed that the Company’s CEO Mr. Pramchand Punwasi has total confidence in Guyana’s number one youth and sports organisation.
