Quiet Dancer added to feature Stag D class event
All is set and a bumper crowd is expected to converge at the Nand Persaud and Company Limited Racing Facilities at No36 Village, Macedonia Estate, Corentyne, Berbice today.
The event is being organised by the Nand Persaud Group of Companies through its Sky Plus promotion Group.
Dubbed the ‘Nand Persaud Karibee Rice Sprint Classic’, the event has whipping up so much interest that a record number of over 80 horses entered for the sprint classic race meet today.
The track is in top shape and the facilities, which is the only one of its kind in Guyana, has been undergoing massive sprucing up with the track, rails, paddocks, stalls and stables being attended to.
The seven race meet has over $4M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for the taking.
The feature D and lower 880yards classic has a top class field that includes Honey Flow, Storm Bird, Brave Sky, Wild Excitement, Golden Blue Echo, Quiet Dancer, Appealing Harvest, Witchy Poo, T and T and Honest Penny competing for the $400,000 and trophy winning take compliments of Stag.
The other events on the days card are for animals classified H and lower for a top prize of $260,000 and trophy also over 660yards.
There is an event for J class animals over 800 yards for a $200,000 winner’s purse and trophy.
The K class and lower animals will be competing for a winning take of $140,000 and trophy over 660 yards.
The event for L class Open horses will see the winner taking home $100,000 and trophy over 660yards. There is a race for L class non-winners where the winner will take home $100,000 and trophy over 660yards.
There is another L class event, but for animals that would not have placed or earned during their career as yet. The winner will take home $100,000 and trophy over 660yards.
Among other horses entered are: Fire In Line, Got To Go, Sweet Return, Lucky Star, Princess Saria, Lucky Lucky, Upfront, Mischief Maker, Puppy Tail, Irish Boy, Royal Son, Delilah, Physical Disturbance, Red Weasel, The Rock, Sweet Silence, Flo Jo, Victoria Secret, Lucky Star, Handsome Boy, Perfect Perfection, Royal Progressive, She is A Princess, Blacka, Prospect Queen, Sudden Flight, Royal Paymaster, Johnny Boy, Wondering, Touch Down, Call She Royal, Uprising, Melon Prince and Country Boy.
The Champion jockey, trainer and stable will all be rewarded with trophies and other incentives compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
Among the sponsors are Trophy Stall, Ansa McAl Stag Beer, 4R Bearings and Dalip Trading and Demerara Shipping Company among others.
A photo finish camera, big screen Television and other amenities will once again be used during the course of the meet.
There will also be added attractions, family entertainment, trampoline, bouncy castle, face painting and other games for the kids.
