Battles continue this evening at Gymnasium from 20:00hrs
Its win or get out the way time again this evening when the GT Beer Keep Your 5 Alive knock-out Futsal
tournament continues at the National Gymnasium with six more matches. Tonight’s competitors will be aiming to join the successful teams from opening night play but will have to get past their respective opponents if they are to move on as only the fittest will survive.
Already advancing and closer to staking a claim for the top prize of $500,000 are the best side in Street and Futsal football, Sparta Boss, Broad Street, North Ruimveldt, Showstoppers, Rhythm Star and Kitty.
Tonight’s action will see Agricola Champion Boys tackling Leopold Street, Tiger Bay will hope to claw their way past Bagotsville, North East comes up against Dave and Celina of the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden, Shatterville Gunners will aim to cut down Newton Kitty, Melanie oppose Future Stars, while GWI will hope dispose of GPL.
Thirty-two teams started the competition but as you lose you will fall by the way side. They have come from the East Coast, East Bank, West Demerara, Linden and the Capital City, Georgetown.
Among the corporate entities on board to date are HJTV, 94.1 Boom FM, The Trophy Stall, Star Party Rentals, Confidential Cabs and GT Beer. The other competition dates are July 13th 18th 22nd and 25th July and August 5th.
Meanwhile, following are results from the opening night of action, July 6th.
Game 1 – Kitty-8 vs Plaisance-1: Kitty Scorers: Anthony Sancho-2nd, 16th, 17th and 19th, Donald McKenzie-3rd and 7th, Sonel Logan-10th, Jahaal Greaves-20th. Plaisance Scorer, Warren Gilkes-1st.
Game 2 – Rhythm Star-4 vs Old School Ballers-3: Rhythm Scorers: Kevin Agard-2nd and 12th, Sceyon Hope-18th, Teon Jones-19th. Old Scorers: Junior Jordon-9th and 16th, Moses Gittens-8th.
Game 3 – Sophia-6 vs Showstoppers-8: Showstoppers Scorers: Delroy Ferdinand-8th, 21st, 27th, Marvin Josiah-36th and 37th, Dexroy Adams-16th and 38th, Sherwin Halley-6th. Sophia Scorers: Desmond Cottam-17th, 22nd, 26th, Akeem Jaikissoon-11th, Shem Arthur-25th, 33rd.
Game 4 – North Ruimveldt-5 vs Grove Hi Tech-1: North Scorers: Gerald Gittens-6th and 7th, Linris Carrington-21st, Travis Grant-26th, Nkosi Barker-30th. Grove Hi Tech Scorer: Domini Garnett-17th.
Game 5 – Broad Street-2 vs West Back Road-1: Broad Street Scorers: Devon Johnson-14th, Samuel Hunte-29th. West Back Road Scorer: Josiah Charles-17th.
Game 6 – Sparta Boss-4 vs Russian All-Stars-0: Gregory Richardson-7th, Own Goal-12th, Devon Millington-14th, Eusi Philips-23rd.
