The Cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club continues to create history as they would be documenting the club’s history as part of a programme to mark the Township’s 46th anniversary in September.

The 40-page booklet will be fueled with the support of one of the club’s longest serving sponsors, the Bank of Nova Scotia.
Spearhead of the project, club Secretary/CEO Hilbert informed that the booklet would be historic as it would be the first time that the history of Guyana’s township would be researched and documented for future generations.
The booklet, he disclosed would be one of over 20 projects the club would be undertaking to make the 2016 Rose Hall Town Week, the best organised in the history of any township in Guyana.
Articles in the booklet would include: Rose Hall village, the slaves who bought the village in 1842, Towhsip status in 1970, Mayors and Town Clerks 1970-2016, achievements in sports, youth leaders, development over the years, the business sector, profiles of outstanding residents including Clarence Hughes, J.C. Chandisingh, Assad Fudadin, Andre Percival, David Ramnarine, Viv Persaud and Alex Foster among others.
The Club’s Educational Committee co-chaired by the Club Secretary and his Asstistant Secretary/CEO Franklyn Ross and the cricket teams would be responsible for researching and editing the historic magazine which would be distributed free of cost to residents of the township, schools, the business sector among others.
Noting that Rose Hall is a small community with a rich tradition in education, culture, sports and business, Foster said that it is important to document its history so that future generations would be aware. He encouraged all former and current residents of the town who have facts of the township or historial photos to submit them at the Club’s Office at Area ‘H’ Ground or via email to foster_hilbert@yahoo.com Marketting Executive of Scotiabank Ms. Jennifer Cipriani hailed the relationship between the Bank and the Club which has been benificial in a positive way in the lives of many. Recording the history of Guyana’s history, Cipriani stated is important and the Bank is delighted to be part of the project.
The teams spearheading the project are Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes Under 15, Bakewell Under 17 and Second Division, Pepsi Under 19 and Intermiade, Metro Females and Gizmos and Gadgets Under 21 and First Division teams.
