The company, which operates one of the largest bakeries in Guyana, purchased the tickets and these were presented on Friday, 29th April, 2016 to the students of the North Ruimveldt Multilateral School during the launch of the GFF-NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17 Intra-Association Football League.
GFF President, Wayne Forde, has lauded Bakewell’s contribution and has issued a call for other corporate entities to partner with the GFF to enable young people to engage in a worthwhile activity.
Companies are encouraged to purchase youth tickets in bulk for distribution to schools and other youth-oriented organizations.
The GFF’s Youth Ticket Initiative was launched in April 2016 and aims to, among other things, create and build interest among the youth for the game of football and allows those 12 – 17 years entry to football games at half price.
Youth tickets are being sold at five hundred dollars ($500) and are available at the GFF’s office, Dadanawa Street, Section K Campbelville.
