Ansa McAl’s Lucozade Handicap Squash Tournament… Nyron Joseph, Regan Pollard and Taylor Fernandes impress on night two
The Ansa McAl’s Lucozade Handicap Tournament hosted by the Guyana Squash Association and sponsored by cell phone giant Digicel continued on Wednesday evening at the Georgetown Club on Camp Street.
Nyron Joseph beat Anthony Islam 2-1 (10/15, 16/14, 15/12) in a marathon effort with Joseph, starting from a handicap of -20, needing to recover from a first set loss to the Junior player. The diminutive Islam fought determinedly to almost complete a win in the second set, but eventually the experience and form of Joseph proved too tall a task.
The skilful Reagan Pollard starting from a handicap of -14 beat Lloyd Fung-A-Fat 2-0 (15/12, 16/14) in another exciting match up while Taylor Fernandes beat Matthew Pang 2-1 (15-8/8-12/15-12).
