GCA expresses condolences following death of Ron Legall
The Executives and Members of the Georgetown Cricket Association would like to express their sincere condolences to the family, relatives, colleagues and friends of the late Cricket Statistician Ronald Legall, Coiln Alfred, Public Relations Officer of the Georgetown Cricket Association stated in a release.
The release stated, ‘Over the years, Ron or Leggie as he was familiarly called, grew up in the homes of most of us who listened to cricket commentary on the radio. Ron was an excellent scorer/statistician for the radio station. He was our Bill Frindall. After he had retired from active scoring, he assisted the Georgetown Cricket Association with the training of potential book scorers and was very meticulous when preparing his programmes. He was always willing to lend his wisdom and expertise to the development of cricket in Guyana.
The game of cricket is poorer with his passing’, Alfred concluded.
