Stag Beer/EBFA Div. 1 League – RD 2…Grove seal the title and Agricola occupied runners-up
Grove Hi Tech all but sealed the Stag Beer sponsored East Bank Football Association division-one league championships when they sealed three points on Sunday last as their opponents, Mocha Champs failed to show up.
The points garnered saw Grove further consolidating their position at the top of the table to an unassailable 36 well ahead of the second placed Agricola Red Triangle in the process, sealing the top prize of $300,000.
Agricola notched up another three points with their 3-0 win over Herstelling Raiders compliments of a brace of goals from Collis Samuels in the 33rd and 39th minute. Gavin Kumar netted the other in the 35th minute.
The league is winding down with just two playing days remaining. Apart from the first prize, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place is guaranteed $200, 000, $100, 000 and $50, 000, respectively.
