Over $5.5 M on offer
With the second half of 2014 horseracing season now into full throttle, the bandwagon shifts focus to the Rising Sun Turf Club for its race meet in collaboration with the Inshan Bacchus Hard Runnings Trucking Service, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and racing stables and Mohammed ‘Nankoo’ Shariff Business Enterprise slated for Sunday 10th August at the Rising Sun Turf Club at Arima Park, West Coast of Berbice.
Seven races are listed on the day’s card with over $5M in prizes up for grabs.
The D class event over 1600M will see the horses galloping for a first prize of $1M. The three year Guyana and West Indies Bred event will see the animals battling for the top prize $600,000 over 1400M.
The incentive in the F and lower event is worth $460,000 also over 1400M. The race for two year old Guyana and West Indies bred horses is worth $400,000 for the winner over 1100.
The G3 and lower race, which will also be run over 1400M, will see the winner taking away a $400,000 first prize.
The ‘I’ class event has a winning tag of $260,000 and will be run over 1400M. The final event of the day is for horses classified J and lower and victory in this event will see the champion taking home $200,000 in the 1100M race.

The race will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority. Race time is 13:00hrs.
