‘Reds’ to be honoured on 75th birthday

The Guyanese Community in St Lucia will be celebrating Guyana’s 48th Independence Anniversary with the hosting of a Gala Dinner & Awards Evening on Saturday 31st May 2014 at the Sandals Halcyon Resort.
At this event, the iconic Guyanese and Caribbean sports personality Joseph “Reds” Perreira will be honoured as he celebrates his 75th birthday.
In addition, other members of the Guyanese Community will be recognized for their contribution to the community and outstanding academic achievements.
The Guest Speaker for the Evening will be Sir Ronald Sanders, a distinguished Guyanese national and former Caribbean Diplomat and current Columnist.
The evening’s programme will feature Guyanese food and culture with a sumptuous four course dinner, a solid bar and a well recognized DJ will be in attendance. A number of door prizes will also be on offer, allowing the winners the opportunity to experience Guyana’s tourist attractions.
