As part of its continued efforts to decentralise the sport, the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has installed a Steering Committee for the management of the sport on the East Coast of Demerara.
The members of the Steering Committee are Dr. Pradeep Balram, Yadram Rajkumar, Andrew Miller, Joseph Benjamin, Xenophone Goliah and Marton Blake.
Present at the Opening Ceremony of a tournament held to also usher in the Steering Committee at the Plaisance Community Centre were the Regional Chairman for Region Four, Clement Corlette, GTTA President, Henry Greene and GTTA Secretary, Godfrey Munroe.
Corlette, in his brief remarks said that he will support table tennis on the East Coast of Demerara, adding that plans are on the way to form other sport committees in the community. The GTTA has formed Steering Committees five other regions.
