(Kaieteur News) – The National Draughts Association would be holding its Emancipation Draughts Tournament on Sunday August 9th 2026 at the Transport Sports Club. Two games on the 8×8 and 10×10 boards would be contested giving the players a full day of competitive Draughts.

Fast Relief Pharmacy located on Durban Street has already provided four trophies for the 8×8 games, while Midnight Closet & Pharmacy located in David Street and Robb Streets respectively is set to offer prizes for the 10×10 games.
Starting time is 10.30am sharp. Players are asked to be on time to facilitate an early start. Before the start a raffle to aid training of youths in 2027 would be launched.
All draughts players are asked to participate in the competition. Entrance fee is 1,000 dollars.
