Ministry of Home Affairs Annual September Games
Arthur Beveney & Letizia Nichols is domino king and queen
Arthur Beveney of the Community Policing Organisation and Letizia Nichols of General Registration Office (GRO) emerged as the respective king and queen of the Ministry of Home affairs king and queen domino competition which was held at the Police Sports Club, Eve Leary on Monday and Tuesday last.
Playing for the Roraima Airways Inc. trophy, Beveney showed his class by accumulating 15 games to take the top spot and bragging rights for the next year ahead of Khain Singh of the Liaison Officers Unit two games behind with Anthony Niles of the Ministry of Home Affairs further back on third with 9 games.
On the distaff side, competing for the Andre Howard Construction Services silverware, it was another close battle that ensued for top honours. When the dust was settled Letizia Nichols emerged as the Queen among her peers with a total of 15 games narrowly edging Amanda Hermanstine of Police who tallied 13 games.
Taking third was Nicole London of General registration office who managed 12 games.
The presentation of prizes will be done at a later date.
Meanwhile, games is set to continue on Monday next (September 19) with a 5-a-side football competition at a venue to be confirmed. Teams from Police, Fire, Prison, Community Policing Organization, Citizens Security Programme, Liaison Officers Unit and Stray Catchers Programme will all vie for top honors and eth attractive trophies.
