After two months of intense action, the four best teams in the inaugural Scotiabank/Pepsi School Football Academy will contest for a place in the finals when the semifinals action is staged at the Carifesta Avenue Sports Complex ground starting at 08:30hrs this morning.
In the opening encounter, the girls team from Tucville Secondary will do battle with their East Ruimveldt Secondary counterparts while in the second match, scheduled to start at 09:45 hrs, North Georgetown will attempt to preserve their unbeaten streak when they tackle Queen’s College.
Earlier Tucville had defeated Queens College 4-0 in the preliminary competition and National Under-16 Netball player Tasnica Lovell will lead their charge in a totally different ball game.
She will receive support from Assana McAnman and Tandica La Rose.
East Ruimveldt had earlier brushed aside Tutorial 4-0 and will depend on Mariam Roach, who has scored twice in the competition. Other notable names in the East Ruimveldt lineup include Jamia Alexander, Felisha Sears, goalkeeper Shonette Gaspar, and Towayne Parris.
Meanwhile, leading goal scorer Althea Holligan, with 10 goals from three matches, will spearhead North Georgetown’s challenge with support from Kenisha Stewart, Jenel Brown and Anida Walker.
Queen’s College who only managed to register one win will be depending heavily on Kadesh and Kezian Daniels, Abigail Somrah, Georgia Bacchus, Shyra Bruce and Cassandra Rogers.
They will be up against a formidable squad in North Georgetown who has scored 14 goals without conceding any.
Fans could, therefore expect keen rivalry as the various teams battle for top honours.
