Several Guyanese continued to perform well in Trinidad’s domestic cricket over the weekend.
In the Championship 2-day league former Guyana under-19 all-rounder Kellon Carmichael and First-Class player Deon Ferrier grabbed three wickets each in a losing cause for Arangues who lost first innings points to Queens Park in their drawn encounter at Arangues.
Queen Park batted first and made 299 with Carmichael (3-50) and Ferrier (3-42) doing the damage with the ball for Arangues who replied with 289 as Michael Brown fashioned an unbeaten even century.
The Guyanese pair of Carmichael and Ferrier both failed to build on starts, making 18 and 17 respectively. Queen spark reached 150-6 in their second innings with Ferrier taking 2-30.
In the South Zone Championship 2-day league, Renown batted first and made 358 with Guyanese Travis Blyden taking 6-73 with his leg-spin. Rousillac replied with 268 with another Guyanese, Elton Baker making 42.
Renown, in their 2nd innings, made 289 with Blyden taking 3-23. Rousillac were then bowled out for 198 in their second turn at the crease despite a fighting 44 from Baker as his team lost the match outright.
