Left-arm spinner Joann Van Sertima and Onika Wallerson grabbed 4-wicket hauls while Devanie Sewnarine hit a solid 33 to highlight the first Demerara Women’s cricket trial match at the Police ground yesterday.
Wallerson captured 4-15 on another day of extreme heat as Van Sertima’s X1 fell for 153 before Van Sertima, a national female cricketer, picked up 4-15 as Sewnarine’s X1 could only reach 147 with the Captain being last out for 33.
Shinead Emerson top scored with 27 for Van Sertima’s X1 while national Female Skipper Zaheeda Samdally made 23 and Victoria Bacchus scored 21. Prudence Williams supported Wallerson with 2-17.
