The Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) received yet another timely boost to facilitate the successful staging of its memorial race meet scheduled for the Club’s Bush Lot Farm Corentyne Headquarters this Sunday compliments of a sizeable sponsorship package from beverage giants, Demerara Distilleries Ltd. Last Wednesday, at a simple ceremony at the DDL’s Kingston head office, Brand Manager (DDL), Maria Munroe, handed over a check for a substantial amount as well as a trophy to a representative of the KMTC. The check represented the purse for the winner of the feature event in the day’s activities. The Brand Manager reminded that DDL has been associated with the KMTC for thirty seven years. She stated that the latest gesture represents an ongoing amicable relationship. “The DDL is especially pleased with the returns garnered from this arrangement and as such pledges its continued support,” said Munroe.
The nation’s top horses, ridden by the top jockeys, would be vying for honours in seven races. Among them are, The Message, Sweet Carmel, Sweet Southern Charm, Jumbo Joy, Sequin, Lara Lee, In Flight, Punch the Cash and Face ‘D’ Music. Race time is 13:30hrs sharp.
