– Harper brothers, King, Butts, Barry among those expected to participate

The much anticipated annual Diocese of Guyana Mothers’ Union Celerity six over six-a-side softball cricket competition and family fun day is scheduled for tomorrow at the YMCA ground, Thomas Lands from 10:00hrs.
The six-team competition involves teams from Mothers’ Union Regions, Greater Georgetown, Central Georgetown, East Bank Demerara, East Coast Demerara, West Coast Berbice and the Essequibo Coast and each team will be led by a celebrity cricketer.
Former West Indies Test bowlers Roger Harper, Reon King and Clyde Butts along with former Guyana cricketers Mark Harper, Neil Barry, Roderick Lovell and ex-Guyana youth batsman Shawn Holder are expected to be on show.
Diocese President Sheran Harper informed that the entire family is catered for and like last year, a large crowd is anticipated. Admission to the ground is just $200.

Food and variety stalls, games, merry-go-round, trampoline, fashion show and a raffle are added attractions. Music will be provided by a popular sound system.
The competition will be played on a knockout basis and all proceeds are in aid of the Mothers’ Union.
