The executive and affiliates of the Georgetown Football Association is extending its sincerest condolences to the executives and members of the Silver Shattas Football Club, and the entire football community of Upper Demerara, upon the passing of the late Troy Richards.
The GFA noted, “Richards’ untimely passing has all left us in a deep state of shock, overcome with emotional grief since his contribution to the sport as a player and coach was exemplary and commendable.
His playing days as a member of Top XX his former club, Upper Demerara, Guyana and most recent, Silver Shattas the club he was instrumental in forming bears testimony of his outstanding career.
“The talented central midfielder, who assumed the playmaker role in most instances, was always a sight to behold in matches, with accurate passes, effective free-kicks and the ability to dictate the pace of the game when it mattered most.
He represented Upper Demerara in a number of epic battles against Georgetown at the association level and numerous clubs, in various competitions.”
“To his immediate family, relatives, friends and teammates, the GFA extends its deepest sympathy. May his soul rest in peace.”
