MCY&S Inter Bloc fever hits West Side
Pouderoyen to kick off Wednesday under lights
The Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport countrywide Inter-Bloc Football competition is set to invade the West Demerara from next Wednesday and will be the first to be played entirely under lights.
A total of 16 teams will battle in the 7 a-side competition with games lasting for 30 minutes each.
The teams have been placed into 4 groups of 4-teams each. Group A has Showtime ‘A’, Bella Dam, Samaroo Dam and West Side Stars.
Group B is made up of Phoenix Park, Canal, Showtime ‘B’ and Depot Dam. Group C teams are Rovers, Coglan Dam, Jetty and Reggae Boys and Group D; Beavers, Church, Middle Street and Stewartville.
Set to meet in the first game next Wednesday will be the Church team and Beavers from 18:30hrs in the first of 4 matches.
Middle Street will then play Stewartville, Coglan Dam engage Jetty with the night capper featuring a clash between Reggae and Rovers.
