Kaieteur Sports – Tucber Park Cricket Club (TPCC) of New Amsterdam defied the odds when they defeated the much favoured Albion Community Centre to win the U19 cricket competition in Berbice.
In the final which was played at the Albion Community Centre Ground, Tucber Park made light work of the favourites winning by 57 runs in the 50 0ver encounter.
Batting first Tucber Park posted 150. Their inning was led by Captain and wicket keeper batsman Thiery Henry who led from the front with a captain’s knock of 34. All-rounder Gilbert Griffith supported well with 27.
Bowling for ACCCC the wickets were shared by D. Lallbehari 2/7, F. Baksh 2/32 and J. Gobin 2/24.

Guyana U19 all-rounder Gilbert Griffith was adjudged man of the man for the outstanding all round performance.
In reply the ACCCC batting lineup could not cope with the penetrative pace and spin bowling of the TPCC and were skittled out for 93. Only R. Lallbehari with 23 offered some resistance.
Bowling for the champion TPCC fast- bowler Jayhayden Rohlehr bagged a match best 4/14. He was supported by National U 19 left-arm spinner Gilbert Griffith who rounded out a fine all round match performance with 4/21. National U19 fast-bowler Micah Amsterdam 1/24 and Shamar Thomas 1/6 supported well.
