Kaieteur Sports – One of Trinidad’s oldest community cricket institutions, Valley Boys Sports and Cultural Club, will be represented in Guyana by their over 50 cricket team. The 60 years old club will match up with several local over 50 teams.
The tour opener will be against Everest Masters on Saturday August 22 from 12 noon. The game will be a T20 extravaganza followed by live entertainment provided by Caribbean Hot Shots Band.
Former Trinidad national senior off spinner, Mukesh Persaud will lead the visitors while the Everest Masters will be spearheaded by Sahadeo Hardaiow, arguably the best over 50 batsman in the country. Hardaiow, is a former Essequibo junior and senior allrounder. Former Berbice inter county player, Luke Latif will also be on show, representing the touring team.
That game will be sponsored by Trophy Stall, Blue Spring Water and Readymix Concrete Limited.
The tour will continue as follows: Sunday 23 vs Parika Defenders at Parika, Tuesday 25 vs Enterprise Sports Club at Enterprise, Wednesday 26 vs Windsor Forest at Windsor Forest, Friday 28 vs Canal No. 1 at Canal and the final match to be played at Anna Regina vs an Essequibo select team on Saturday 29th.
